Welcome to SOCAN’s Pay-As-You-Press (PAYP) licensing request form.

If you do not have a distributor and are not a member of any association (ADISQ, Music Canada or other) then the PAYP license may be for you.

This license authorizes you to reproduce works, in whole or in part, from SOCAN reproduction’s repertoire, on a physical or digital product (CD, cassette, vinyl, digital copy) for private use and sale

Fee structure (we will calculate the royalties owed for you)
Regular Rate: $0.096 per work of 5 minutes or less, and $0.0192 per additional minute
Minimum Rate: $50
Administration Fee: $25

Gather the below details:

• Contact and billing information
• Project details: title, UPC, format, release date, performing artist(s), music duration, number of copies, number of promotional copies.
• The list of musical works you wish to license, including original writer(s)/composer(s) and publisher(s) information.You can search our repertoire  to identify the compositions you would like to license.
• If you are unable to find a work you would like to use, ensure you have detailed information including: all songwriters, publishers, title, performer and how you plan to use the song.
