MAXIMIZING YOUR ROYALTIES
Don’t forget these important steps to ensure you’re getting the most out of your SOCAN membership and maximizing your royalties.
Submit your setlists
Receive the royalties you’ve earned for your concerts. Whether you are paid to perform in-person or on a livestream, or you are playing for free online. Make sure you understand the submission requirements and important deadlines.
Learn more about the concert performance submissions process at SOCAN Academy.
Monitor Unclaimed Concerts
Check the “Concerts with no Set List” section in your SOCAN account for performances where we have already received license fees and need to distribute them. If you don’t find your concert on the list, you can submit your setlists and we’ll do the work to collect your royalties.
Sign up for Reproduction Rights Sync Administration
SOCAN offers non-exclusive synchronization (sync) administration designed to help music publishers and self-published writers manage sync requests for their works.
Sign up for Reproduction Rights AV Post-Sync
SOCAN offers AV Post-Sync administration as a valuable part of any music creator and publisher portfolio. These rights occur after synchronization and involve copies of the final audio-visual production where your musical works are already embedded.
Submit Your Cue Sheets
In order to pay you royalties when your music is performed in audiovisual productions like television programs or films, SOCAN must receive an audiovisual cue sheet listing all the music used in each production.
