Jay Essiambre is no newcomer: he’s toured alongside Elisapie and Vincent Vallières, co-produced Kanen’s debut album, Mitshuap, and handled both the mixing and drums on Deux places au cimetière, Grand Eugène’s latest release. Essiambre also has a knack for comedy, as evidenced by a recent Instagram sketch that went viral—a biting reel chronicling his misadventures as a local artist navigating the festival circuit.
Fortunately, those misadventures in the shadow of major international acts haven’t killed his mojo. He’s finally releasing his first track under his own name, a finely arranged electro-pop song that builds steadily to a lush crescendo of violins.
